The primary aim of an induction programme should be to provide sufficient information and support to a newcomer joining an organisation to ensure that they feel welcomed and become productive in their role as quickly as possible.
The length and nature of the induction and onboarding process will depend on the complexity of the job and the background of the new employee, but particularly at a senior level, it is important to note that one size does not fit all!
We have developed our own unique model – 'The Onboarding Journey' – a joined-up, clearly defined approach that covers all elements of physical and organisational orientation and yet allows for the flexibility of tailoring to the role of the newcomer without being additionally time intensive.
